Is the glorification of death part of the reason Christians seem to so frequently oppose medical science?

I'm a Catholic medical professional with a firm grasp on bio sciences. One of the things that the medical scientific community must constantly deal with is misinformation on the part of the patients. It comes from m media/pop culture and lack of education. Here's one now: "Christians may actually find medical advancement sacrilegious."
