Why does everybody think the Packers would be better off with Brett Favre?

Frei has no idea of what he's talking about. Favre has never had a good defense, when the Packers won the Superbowl in 1996 the Packers had the no. 1 defense in the NFL. Reggie White, Gilbert Brown, Sean Jones, and Santana Dotson on the D-line. LeRoy Butler, Eugene Robinson, Doug Evans, And Craig Newsome were the D-backs. Brian Williams, Bernardo Harris, and Wayne Simmons were the LB's. And without Desmond Howard setting things up the Packers would probably have not made it to the Superbowl. In 2004 the Packers finished 10-6 and went to the playoffs and in 2005 Favre took the same team to a 4-12 record. Last year Rodgers took over a 13-3 team and after a holdout and injuries to Ryan grant and injuries to Clifton and Tauscher in the o-line and Jenkins, Barnett, Collins, Bigby, and Al Harris on defense the team just wasn't the same. Favre wouldn't have done any better last year than Rodgers. If it wasn't for a missed field goal they would have swept the Vikings and a blocked field goal in Chicago they would have swept the Bears and against at the time undefeated Tennessee, Rodgers brought them to a 16-16 tie only to see the Titans get the ball first in OT and the defense let them march down the field to win the game 19-16, none of these games had anything to do with how Rodgers played and if they would have won them the Packers would have ended up 8-8 or 9-7 and in his 1st 3 seasons Favre never won more than 9 regular season games as a starter and is only 12-10 in the playoffs and is only 2-2 in NFC championship games and has never beaten Dallas at Dallas, in fact in 2007 the Packers almost won at Dallas after Favre was injured and Rodgers took over to lead them back. So, maybe Frei should forget all and start growing up.
