I want to connect to internet without using telephone lines or cables. What will i do?

I'm in jeddah,KSA. I want to connect to the internet, some suggest me to buy a wireless network card to access to the internet tru my laptop? please help me, where is the best place to ask and buy the needed materials for my toshiba laptop aside from the place where i purchased my unit.
