Romeo & Juliet film adaptation?

It won't ruin the text to watch a move first because it is a play and watching being performed is what the writer intended. I think either movie is good, but i love the 60's one, just because when we watched it in school, the entire cl really enjoyed it, and we weren't looking forward to it either. Although Claire Danes is a terrific actress and you would probably enjoy her Juliet.
